Semmi was born on the eighth of June 1973, deep down in the jungle in Cameroon where he probably still belongs. After his rows with the local music press he begged his parents to go back to Holland where he got involved with even bigger snakes and monkeys: the Dutch music scene. After seeing Semmi playing the Dutch national anthem on bass and guitar with his teeth, record label Excelsior got interested.

With the same trick he achieved to pass the audition for a band called Caesar (he was the only candidate).

After a breakthrough in 1998 Semmi wasn't prepared for another one in 2000. In the jungle tearing down one wall is usually enough. Following a confusing law study and after finally becoming integrated, Semmi is preparing himself nowadays for the Final Breakthrough Tour 2003. He hopes he'll survive this one. "Life on the road can be very tough, you know, especially below sea level."
